Notes from
A Culture of Safety.

If you’re a human being that has ever felt afraid or undervalued at work, if you’re a business leader charged with the growth, performance, and wellbeing of a team, you’ll feel your heart echoed in A Culture of Safety.

In the book, you’ll learn about:

  • The neurobiological foundations for trusting relationships and safe workplace culture

  • The number one skill leaders must have in order to create a culture of safety

  • Ways to healthfully navigate the relationship cycle in order to build deep connections

  • Sample team practices and worksheets for self-guided study

“When safety is compromised, people begin to protect themselves by holding back ideas, feelings, and thoughts. They create relationship workarounds, which take up a lot of emotional and mental energy that could be used towards learning, building, and innovating the business.”

- A Culture of Safety

My journey from culture clash to creating a culture of safety

After having a child and experiencing postpartum anxiety, my work world turned upside down. Instead of being greeted by warm, compassionate colleagues, I found myself actively undermined and (even worse) not believed by my managers. It added yet another layer to the already thick skin I’d developed as a woman in tech.

Combined with so many anecdotes I’d heard about “soul sucking” work, this traumatic time in my life inspired me to shed the spiky skin and help business leaders engage in a healthier way to relate, work, and earn revenue.
